Symbolism can be defined as the investing of outward things or actions with an inner meaning, most often for the expression of religious or mystical ideas. Symbolism has a far greater presence in history and even contemporary culture than most realize. More than an ancient, esoteric discipline, it really serves as the centerpiece for an entirely new modern philosophy and understanding of the world.
